Colleen “Corky” Oakley McMahan, age 79, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Dayton, OH our loving mother passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023. She was a mother, grandma and great grandma and enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, dancing, playing casino slot machines and playing rummy with her grandchildren. Colleen retired from Kroger Bakery and H & R Block where she worked at each for many years. She also loved Genealogy and discovering and sharing interesting facts about the Oakley Family Tree. She was preceded in death by her beloved companion, William (Sonny) McMahan, Jr.; parents Samuel Oakley, Sr. and Wilma Miller Oakley; brother and sisters, Sam Oakley, Jr., Milton Oakley, Thomas Oakley, Jean Lawson and Dorothy Bush; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim Dulaney, Jesse Bush, Eddie McMahan, John McMahan, Evelyn Oakley, Joyce Oakley, Robert Thompson and Chuck Henline. She is survived by her children, Julie (Mike) Bradley, Tracy (David) Grose, Jason McMahan (Amy) and Wilma Cooper (Jassen Williamson); grandchildren Coby McLemore (Dawn Dawes), Caleb McMahan, Caden McMahan, Aiden Cooper and great grandson, Owen McLemore; brothers and sisters, Jim (Robin) Oakley, Steven (Kerri) Oakley, Danny (Rhonda) Oakley, Sandy Dulaney, and Sue (Don) Fisher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pam Oakley, Jean Thompson, Sue Henline, Rose McMahan and Becky McMahan. The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:30 am Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 am with Rev. Wayne Loy officiating. Interment will follow in Berry Highland South Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason McMahan, Coby McLemore, Mike Bradley, David Grose, Wesley Whitsell and Brad Muncey. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to make donations to Sacred Ground Hospice House. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all employees at Sacred Ground Hospice House who gave our Mom the best loving care of the last 7+ months.
