Terrisa Loving

Terrisa Thompson Loving, age 69 of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on Holy Saturday, April 8, 2023. Terrisa was born in Benham, KY on October 11, 1953. Her family moved to Ewing, VA where she attended Thomas Walker High School until 1968 . Terri then moved to Richmond, KY where she graduated from Model Laboratory School in 1971 and attended Eastern Kentucky University. While attending Eastern Kentucky University she married and had her two children Whitney and Thom. They moved to Bowling Green, KY in 1977 where she attended First Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky where she loved working with the little ones in the nursery. Terri worked in banking up until she moved to Knoxville in 2008 to be closer to her family. Once in Knoxville she worked at Dillard’s in the children’s department for many years until her retirement. She loved to read, shop, cook and was known for her Derby Pie. Terri was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2018 and battled it like a champion, fighting until her last day. Terri is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Thompson, Jr and mother, Micki Tye Yeary. She is survived and will be terribly missed by her children, Whitney Murphy and her husband Paul of Knoxville, TN, and Thomas McChesney Loving of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Lillie Clancy Murphy of Knoxville, TN, Lauren Catherine Murphy of Knoxville, TN and Brycen James Loving of Bowling Green, KY; siblings, Robert Lee “Tommy” Thompson, III of Louisville, KY, B. Todd Thompson of Louisville, KY, Tracy Thompson and wife Susan of Knoxville, TN and Tyler Thompson and his wife Frances of Louisville, KY; stepmother, Willi Walker Thompson of Richmond, KY; nieces and nephews, Katie Hubbard and husband William, Tye Thompson and wife Rebecca, Taylor Thompson and wife Elizabeth, Tess Thompson, Callie Thompson, Madison Thompson, Ellery Thompson and Cole Thompson. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Daniel Ibach and his team at Tennessee Cancer Specialists and the wonderful staff and residents of Morning Pointe Assisted Living. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, April 12th at Rose Funeral & Cremation – Mann (6200 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919). A private family graveside service will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
