Anne Floore Bledsoe

Anne Floore Bledsoe, 82, wife, mother, and dear friend to all, died peacefully on October 2, 2017 at NHC Farragut Assisted Living. Anne grew up in Shuqualak, MS. She graduated from high school and then completed secretarial school in Jackson, TN. She later earned an associate’s degree in Art History from Pellissippi State in Knoxville, TN. Anne and her Husband, Dr. Bobby Bledsoe, lived in Memphis, TN and in Stillwater, OK before choosing Knoxville, TN to raise their two children. They lived in Knoxville, TN from 1969 to present. An avid antiques collector, wildflower gardener, quilt maker, and tourist of historical homes and gardens; Anne’s real abiding passions were her friends and family and a good game of bridge, rook, or crazy gin. Anne sought to instill in her children the value of hard work and discipline, an appreciation of the arts and culture, the natural beauty around us, the power of love and kindness, and having spiritual strength in God. Anne held several secretarial positions at the University of TN both in Memphis and in Knoxville, and at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She also worked at Crawford and Company Insurance in Knoxville, TN for several years. Moreover, she really enjoyed being a Welcome Wagon hostess in Knoxville back in the 70’s. She was an active member at St Mark’s United Methodist Church and was a children’s Sunday school teacher when her children were small. She also participated for many years in the PTA at Rocky Hill elementary school. Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Tula Ann and Thomas Clinton; 2 brothers, John and Burns; sister, Martha; son, Lynn Andrew; and husband, Bobby. She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Bledsoe Moran and son-in-law, Tim Moran; two grandchildren, Audrey Lynn and Bobby Eugene Moran; sisters-in-law, Carol Floore, Judy Bledsoe Bailey and Jane Bledsoe Davis, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 8th at St Mark United Methodist Church. Visitation with friends and family from 2 pm – 3 pm. Service at 3 pm with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to support the arts in Knoxville via Dancer’s Studio, Knoxville Youth Symphony, or the Tennessee Theater, as well as UT Medical Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Place Farragut, NHC Farragut Rehab and Assisted Living, the Caris Hospice team, and the doctors and nurses on the 7th floor at UT Hospital for all the kindness and care given to Anne. The family asks that you spend time with your children, take walks in the woods, or hikes in the mountains with your loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond.
