Barbara McPherson Stephenson Chubb

Barbara McPherson Stephenson Chubb, 97, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2025. She was born on December 29, 1927, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Claude and Hope McPherson. Barbara attended the University of Tennessee and went on to enjoy a long and successful career marked by leadership and service. She worked in the medical field for many years as a certified medical assistant. Barbara also served as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of Expert Care, T.L.C. Nursing Center in Dunwoody, Georgia; President of Mail-Minders, Inc., and President of Key Conversion, Inc., both in Roswell, Georgia. Barbara was an active member of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Female Executives. Member of The Order of the Daughters of the King. Loved by many, Barbara was known for her warm hugs, generous heart, and joyful spirit. She embraced life fully and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that will continue to inspire those who knew her. She is survived by her stepson, John (Terri) Chubb; niece, Pam (Randy) Drummer; nephew, Ron (Stephanie) McPherson; step-grandchildren, Abby Jedlicka and Marcy Owen; great-niece, Anna (Jordan) Leith; great-nephews, Caleb (Josie) Drummer, Brenton McPherson, and Brock McPherson; two step great-granddaughters; great-great nephew Jamie Drummer; great-great niece Hazel Drummer; special friend, Fran Pearson; sister-in-law, Zella McPherson; first cousins Lou Frye, Emerson Breeden, and many other cousins; and many precious friends from St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church in Brookhaven, Georgia; Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Knoxville; and Sherrill Hills Retirement Resort, Knoxville. A host of other precious friends including Rev. SuZanne Seavey, Allan and Jayne Willoughby, Mike and Peggy Poole, and Tina Dunn. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Hope McPherson; her husbands, Edwin Chubb and Charles Stephenson; and her brother, Ronald C. McPherson. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville, 800 S. Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919, with the Rev. Christopher Hogin officiating. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville. The family extends special thanks to the staff of South High Senior Living and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their compassionate care.
