Brian Neal Hamlett

Hamlett, Lt. Brian Neal, age 34 came into this world on June 27, 1977 in Florence, South Carolina and left us March 22, 2012 in Newport, Rhode Island. Brian grew up in Farragut, TN before moving to Dallas, TX where he graduated from Coppell High School. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy in 2003. His Naval Career took him around the world including time with the Combined Joint Task Force Paladin at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan as well as deployments to Guatemala and Panama with Inshore Boat Unit 42 and the Mediterranean with the USS Elrod. While stationed in Guam, he led mobile training teams in Singapore and Brunei and Coordinated other mutilnational exercises with Malaysia and Thailand. He also was an instructor at the Surface Warefare Officers School in Newport, RI. Brian enjoyed riding his motorcycles, scuba diving and being on his boat "Carolina Girl". However, he was never happier than when he was spending time with the joys of his world, his sons, Brice Dylan and David Neal. He was a loving and devoted father to his sons that survive him. He is also survived by his wife Stacey, Mother and her husband, Betty and Ingmar Sundqvist; father and his wife, Jack and Liz Hamlett, brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Amanda Hamlett; nephew and niece, Taylor and Kaylynn Hamlett; grandparents, Jack and Dottie West and Frances Hamlett; aunts and uncles, Jan and Tommy Holmes Pam Reising and Robert Hamlett; cousins, Tom Hamlett, David and Will Holmes and Justin and Garrett Reising; as well as numerous friends who will miss him dearly. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 AM Tuesday at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (Lyons View Pike) for a graveside service with Reverend Drew Prince officiating. Full military honors presented by the United State Navy.
