C. Allen Knable

KNOXVILLE - Knable, C. Allen – age 80 of Knoxville died on Monday, February 5, 2024. He was born on July 12, 1943, the son of Clyde and Evelyne Knable. Allen was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville with an MBA in Accounting Management. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1970 and was a Vietnam War veteran, serving as a 1st Lieutenant, Battalion Operations Officer in charge of all transportation in the Northern ICON during his deployment. He married Susie Ellis of Knoxville in 1971. He was employed by Rohm and Haas as Budget Analysis Director, by KUB as Internal Audit Manager, and by ORNL FCU for 8 years. He worked in private practice as a CPA and started a local rental car business in the 1990s. He was past president of the Knox Chapter of TSCPA, Knox Chapter of Estate Planning, and Knox Chapter of Internal Auditors. Allen was a member of Central United Methodist Church since 1971. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a nephew, Neal Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susie Ellis Knable; his sister Marinel Edwards; his brother and sister-in-law Glen and Kathryn Knable; his brother-in-law Archie Ellis; nephews Larry Edwards, David (Heather) Knable, Zac Ellis, and Sam (Liz) Ellis; niece Karen (Hugh) Knable Hicks; great nieces and nephews Lauren (Grant) Hawkins, Evelyn Hawkins, Kathryn Thomas, MaKayla Knable, Dawson Knable, Logan Knable, Bennett Ellis, and John Akers Ellis. The family would like to thank the staffs of The Pointe at Lifespring and Jefferson City Health and Rehab for their wonderful support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 201 E. 3rd Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. Visitation will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A family graveside service will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. John Sevier Highway on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 2:00pm.
