Carol Smith Tombras

Tombras, Carol Smith - passed away Tuesday evening November 8, 2011 at home and went to be with the Lord. Carol was a homemaker, wife of Charles P. Tombras, Jr. and mother of Dooley R. Tombras. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, she attended Bearden Elementary and was a graduate of West High School and The University of Tennessee. While attending UT she was first runner up in the Miss UT Pageant. Carol attended Sevier Heights Baptist Church. She loved gardening, bible study and her family. Carol loved small children, dogs and had compassion for everyone. She was a member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, First Families of Tennessee, the Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia, the National Society of the Southern Dames of America, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Great Great Grandaughters Club of the Confederacy, Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars, National Society United States Daughters of 1812, National Society of the Dames of the Court of Honor, the National Society of the Daughters of Colonial Wars and the National Society Daughters of American Colonists. Carol was the daughter of Oliver A. Smith Jr. and Evelyn Dooley Smith. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles Tombras and son, Dooley Tombras, brother, Oliver A. Smith III and his wife Carol Woods, his son, Oliver A. Smith IV, wife Sarah Reed Smith and children, Olivia and Crosse Smith, sister Diana Smith Flaherty, daughter, Ashley Wynn Grimes, daughter Eve Zinaveh, Mariah Mace and Gage Grimes, son Dr. R. D. Breezy Wynn. The family will receive friends Friday November 11th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville and the Memorial Service will follow Saturday morning, November 12th at 11:00 AM at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, officiating by Reverend Hollie Miller, Pastor of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
