Carolyn Ann Roback

Carolyn Ann Roback, age 79 of Knoxville TN, born on December 30th, 1945, passed away on May 1st, 2025. Ann was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Concord where she taught school and Sunday school for many years. Ann was a Mother, a sister, a grandmother and an amazing wife to our Father. She was a saint, she was strong, she was smart and witty and she was the nicest person anyone could ever meet. She had a heart of Gold! She truly did! She was a devout Christian and spent her life worshiping the Lord and witnessing to others. This was our Mother, Ann Roback, and we, along with so many others have had the pleasure of having this amazing woman in our lives! If you know Ann Roback, you know that she was a selfless, giving woman! She literally would give you the shirt off her back! She loved to laugh and had a funny wit about her! She was humble and she was beautiful! Ann Roback owned and operated Ms. Ann’s Daycare for 30 years, alongside her daughters and many close family friends. There was always a waiting list to get into Ms. Ann’s Daycare! Ann was born in LaFollette Tennessee and lived most of her life in Duff TN, until she went to college at Cumberland College where she met her beloved husband, Zafer Roback I. Zafer and Ann met at the Campus Grill, where Zafer was ordering coffee and asked for sugar and to his dismay they were out of sugar, so he looked at Ann (his future wife) and said she will stir it with her finger and that will make it sweet, and the rest is history! Zafer and Ann just recently celebrated their 59th year anniversary on April 9th 2025. Ann is preceded in death by her son, Zafer Roback II and daughter in law, Ashley Slagle Roback, son Rasheed Roback, her Mother and Father, Mariah and Edmond Faulkner, her in-laws Roy and Jamelah Roback, sister Mary Lil Griffith, brother, Jack Faulkner, nephew John Faulkner Jr, Brother-in-Law, Ramsey Roback and wife Bertha, Brother-in-Law, Farouk Roback and Niece, Mona Lisa Roback. Ann is survived by her husband, Zafer Roback I, and beloved Maltese Dog Sugar, daughters, Kelley Roback, Keshia Youmans and husband Ralph Youmans, Kephanie Landess and husband Greg Landess, brother, John Faulkner and wife Margaret Faulkner, brother in law, Lowell Griffith and wife Fay Griffith, Grandkids, Ashley Richardson and husband Oli Richardson, and great grandchildren Hattie and Huck, Grandkids Zafer (Trey) III and Olivia, sister in law, Salwa Waleed, sister in law, Diana Roback, brother in law, Sammy Roback, sister in law, Joann Roback, sister in law, Lalia Vasi and husband Rahib Vasi, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family will receive friends at Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann on Wednesday, May 7th from 11:00am-1:00pm with a funeral service to start at 1:00pm.
