Cleo Millsaps Buck Hatfield

Cleo Millsaps Buck Hatfield was born on July 15,1937, in Walland, Tennessee to Faye and Bruce Millsaps. After high school she was first married to Lewis Pangle, father of daughters Stacy and Robin, and was a homemaker. In 1964 she met and married Isaac Buck, Jr. and moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, where together they made a family of seven(children Camille, Don, Mark, Stacy and Robin). Cleo was known for hospitality and a home full of love. Their home was opened up to exchange students, missionaries, and many more. She had an open-door policy to all, and she also demonstrated compassion and service to those in need. She volunteered at church and in the children's schools. Cleo was the consummate hostess and cook for the growing family at all holidays. Both family and friends described her as "beautiful on the inside and outside." No one ever heard her complain or criticize; Cleo radiated love to all who encountered her. Her signature sour cream pound cakes were baked and given to many throughout the years-most recently to her Sunday school class, where she was a member at the Central Knoxville Baptist Church. She also loved to travel; one special trip was to Brazil, home of previously hosted exchange students. In 1979 after the death of her husband, she returned to the Knoxville area where she cared for her parents until their deaths. She also worked for the Knox County Health Department and as a sitter/companion for the elderly until her retirement. She was married to P.O. Hatfield until his death. Cleo is survived by: Children, Stacy (Jerry) Knight, Robin (Alex) Wilson, Mark (Katherine) Buck, and Camille (Charlie) Biter. Grandchildren Ryan Knight, Brandon Knight, Hannah Farrington, Isaac Wilson, Marshall Buck, Leslie Minkoff, Laura Barnett, Mardi Pickett, and Ran Buck. She was the much-loved great grandmother to eighteen great grandchildren. Cleo was predeceased by her parents, Isaac Buck, son Don Buck, P.O. Hatfield, and siblings J.C. Millsaps, Julian Millsaps, Alma Kirkland, and Annie Gamble. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Rose Funeral and Cremation – Mann. A service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Mark Moreland officiating. Family and friends will gather at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 31, 2025, for an 11:00am graveside service.
