Dana Nicole Workman Henegar

Dana Nicole Workman Henegar, age 42, passed away on January 24, 2016 surrounded by her family. She had gracefully and valiantly fought breast cancer for over 5 years and is now healed with the Great Physician. She was born in Knoxville, TN, and lived here for most of her life, aside from a three year period in Memphis, TN. Dana was a 1991 graduate of Halls High School and a 1995 graduate of The University of Tennessee, where she was a summa cum laude graduate in Finance. She worked in the banking industry for many years with NBC Bank and later Suntrust Bank. In Dana's second career she was a certified fitness professional and worked at Tennova Health & Fitness Center. She touched many lives through her fitness career, helping many to change the course of their own lives through better health. She was more recently a manager with Tennova with broad responsibilities while continuing to teach fitness classes and personal training. Dana is predeceased by grandparents "Nannan" Wanda and Charles Reynolds, Ruth and Frank Workman. She is survived by husband of 20 years, Mark Brandon Henegar, and daughter Hallie Jean Henegar, father and mother Dale & Linda Workman, twin brother Brandon and wife (Nicole) Workman nephew Evan, sister Michelle and husband (Brian) Wilson and nephews, Nicholas and Mathew Wilson. She is also survived by Mother-in-Law Melinda Henegar and Father-in-Law Carl (Phyllis) Henegar. She leaves behind a multitude of other family members, close friends, and professional acquaintances who will miss her charm and positive attitude dearly. The family and friends would like to thank the staff of Tennessee Cancer Specialists, particularly Dr. Mitchell Martin and his direct staff, as well as the staff of Tennova Infusion Center for their excellent care of Dana of the past five years. They had became our second family and were passionate, professional and loving in Dana's care. There will be a receiving of friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday January 26, at Central Baptist Church Fountain City with a memorial service following at 8:00 pm with Pastor Josh Beeler officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dana's memory either to Central Baptist Church "Building on a Strong Foundation" Building Fund 5364 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918 or to Compassion in Action, 3201 Chantilly Drive, Knoxville, TN 37917.
