Frances Lee Whittaker

Frances Lee Whittaker, of Knoxville, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Monday, July 20, 2015, at the age of 68. Frances was born March 5, 1947 to David Leon and Wanda Marshall Stephens, both of whom preceded her to Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Stephens, Jr., of Knoxville, and her son-in-law, Kent Lewis, of Gainesville, Ga. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Jerry R. Whittaker, who deeply loved her and will anxiously await the day they are reunited in Heaven. She is also survived by her son, Ron Whittaker, of Knoxville; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lewis Keller and Stephen Keller, of Ponte Vedra, FL; two granddaughters, whom she deeply loved, Kenlee and Chloee Lewis, also from Ponte Vedra, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Jim Smith, a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Cherie Stephens; and sister-in-law, Carol Stephens, all of Knoxville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her very much. Frances was a long-time, faithful member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. She loved ministering to others in need as well as studying scripture together with other women. Frances had gained much wisdom from God's Word over the years, and enjoyed sharing that with others. She was a successful businesswoman in Knoxville for many years, both with Tupperware and recently as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Wallace and Wallace. Frances loved the people that she met while working, and formed many lifetime friendships from her career. She was known by everyone for her kind heart, her contagious smile and infectious laugh, and most importantly, for her love for Jesus. Frances was quick to help anyone she saw in need, despite any need of her own, and she was an amazing servant of Christ, impacting many lives. Her granddaughters will always remember her fun spirit, and baking her yummy goodies together in the kitchen. The family will receive friends at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, July 23, from 6-8pm, with a service following by Rev. Kent Williams. Family and Friends will meet at the entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 am on Friday, July 24, for an 11:00 am graveside. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
