Harry Reichmann

Reichmann, Harry, of Knoxville, departed this earth when his spirit entered into Paradise to be with God and the Lord Jesus Christ, Thursday, September 30, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pensacola, Florida and served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He returned and graduated from the University of Florida as an Aerospace Engineer. He then relocated to Tullahoma, Florida where he was associated with Arnold Engineering and Development Center his entire engineering career. He was very proud of the fact that he tested the F100 engine in the F15 aircraft. He met the love of his life and future wife, the former Florence Walker Reichmann while in pre-med at Emory University in Atlanta, GA to whom he was married for over 60 years. Harry was an active volunteer his entire life, most recently serving as Tutor/Mentor at Pond Gap Elementary School. He coordinated volunteer activities and also taught Sunday School at Shannondale Retirement Center. In Tullahoma, he was active for many years as a Boy Scouts leader, Elder of the Tullahoma Presbyterian Church and Moderator of the Mid-South Synod, and the Junior Achievement Executive Director. Harry is survived by his loving daughters and son-in-law, Rosemary Gilliam of Knoxville, TN and Pamela and Mike Scholes of O’Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Caroline Gilliam, Jonathan and Jenny Gilliam, Jenn (Scholes) and Eric Feagans; great-grandchildren, Lance Michael Feagans, Jackson Henry Gilliam and Hunter Lee Gilliam; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Doris Reichmann; Harry had many special nieces and nephews, including Darlene and Ivar Brothen, Sandra and Richard Kanode, Nancy and Ray Stone, John and Vicki Walker, Dr. James Walker and Ms Debbie Walker and Paula Schorenberg. Family and friends will meet in the Mausoleum Chapel of Highland Memorial Cemetery by 9:45 am Saturday for a 10:00 am interment service with Dr. William R. (Bill) Barron officiating.
