Harry Lee Wagner

Harry Lee Wagner, age 88 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a War War II Veteran. He attended Oak Ridge High School and his parents worked in Oak Ridge. He joined the Navy at 18 in 1945 and was assigned to the SeaBees, the Navy’s construction branch. He received his uniform on the day of his 18th birthday. Soon after returning from the war he married his love, Katherine Foster and had daughters Linda and Susan. Being a Civil Engineer, he worked construction in the 50”s, participating in the construction of the St. Lawrence Sea Way, was a Home Builder and Realtor in the 60’s and 70”s, and in the 80’s managed the Riverbend Strawberry Farm – receiving the “Farmer of the Year” award in 1985. Preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Mattie Wagner and Wife Katherine Elizabeth Wagner. Survivors: daughters; Linda Jackson of Lawrenceburg, TN and Susan Jeffries-Klevens of Atlanta , son-in-laws Wayne Jackson and Howard Klevens. Grandchildren: Alexia L. Jeffries, Glenn Edward Jeffries III, Robert C. Jeffries, Jennifer S. Jackson, Bradley A. Jackson and Kristin Jackson. Granddaughter-in-laws: Hope Jackson and Annie Novotny Jeffries. Great Grandchildren: Madeline Jackson, Brooks Jackson , Abigail Katherine ( Abby Kate ) Jackson and Cecilia Louise ( Lou Lou) Jeffries. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday May 2, 2015, at Central United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Sherrod and Rev. Grady Winegar officiating. The family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery for an 1:00 pm interment service with full military honors.
