Smith, Ramonia Irene Debuty, 82, of Knoxville, TN, reunited with our Lord and her departed husband on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. All of Heaven was sure to rejoice the return of this blessed Angel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Kenneth "Cotton" Smith, Sr., son, Johnny David Smith, father, Alfred Debuty and mother, Eliza Jane Payne Debuty, brother, Kliness Debuty, Sisters, Margaret Debuty Pitner and Bonnie Debuty Wolfenbarger, as well as many other beloved extended family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Mary Debuty Pitner, children, Rebecca and Gary Varner, Kenny and Vicki Smith, Vivian Madden, Freddy and Wynn Smith, Tommy and Jeanetta Smith, Marty Smith, Anita and Keith Dozier, Paul and Becky Smith, Juanita and Mike Agentis, and Holly Lazenby. She leaves a large and beautiful legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family whom she partly raised and equally loved. She was a Godly woman and an example to all who encountered her. The open door in her home welcomed family, friends and strangers to a warm meal, clothes and a bed when in need. She was a devoted member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly and shared her talents of singing, feeding, cleaning, and was a Sunday school teacher in the children's class for many years. She taught them that the wise man builds his house upon the Rock. While she will be sorely missed, she has claimed her new home and is singing with the Saints. In her words “It’s been a good Journey”. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Church of God of The Union Assembly at 3428 Keith Avenue Knoxville, TN 37921 with funeral service immediately following at 5:00 pm with Rev. Rocky Smith and Rev. Marcus Pratt officiating. Family and friends will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel 1:15 pm Sunday, November 27, 2016 and proceed to Highland Memorial Cemetery for graveside services at 2:00 pm with Rev.
