James Daiden Lance

James Daiden Lance, age 18, a resident of Louisville, Tennessee, affectionately known as "Daiden" to all, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on September 7th, 2023. Daiden had a love for motocross starting out from the early age of 7 that continued into adulthood giving him vast experience of motorcycles. He was driving home when he collided with an equine that unexpectedly appeared on the roadway. Daiden's untimely departure has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts. He was a young man brimming with potential, poised for a bright future. Daiden had graduated early from William Blount High School in January 2023, but Daiden was not like most teenagers. During his time as a student, he also worked full-time as a heavy equipment operator at the family business, JDL Construction. He graduated early to prepare him for his Vice President title of the company in the year 2024. Daiden’s work ethic and ambition were unparalleled as he worked diligently alongside his brother, John Linkous. The boys took over the business when their father James Darin Lance passed away in 2020. Daiden was described by all to be an “old soul”, with a personality and ambition way beyond his years. Once he set his sights on a goal, he pursued it with unwavering determination. His entrepreneurial spirit mirrored that of his late father, ensuring that he, too, would leave an unfading mark through hard work and dedication. Daiden was a jack of all trades. He knew how to do anything from assembling an engine to playing the guitar. His versatility knew no bounds. His energetic spirit left everyone in the room smiling. Daiden never missed out on an opportunity to do a goofy dance, tell a silly joke, or play a good prank. Anyone who knew Daiden would describe him as selfless, pure, and humble. Preceded in death by his admired father, James Darin Lance. Survived by his loving mother, Tami Lance of Louisville, Tennessee. Daiden will be missed by his many siblings: Mallory Dietz (Bradley), Miranda Nunes (Victor), John Linkous (Kourtney), Jemima Ledbetter-Lance (Slayton), and Joseph Lance (Courtney). His beloved Grandmothers Joyce Argo (John) and Margaret Roach. Daiden was the cherished uncle to many Nieces and Nephews: Adeline Dietz, Maverick Dietz, Manny Nunes, Leo Nunes, Hux Linkous, Valor Dietz, and Elias Nunes. A receiving of friends for Daiden will be held on Saturday, September 16th from 5 pm-7 pm at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway located at 1421 North Broadway St. Knoxville, TN 37917. Daiden’s funeral will be held the following day Sunday, September 17th at 11 am at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway located at 1421 North Broadway St. Knoxville, TN 37917. The burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery. The Lance family requests that anyone coming to the funeral drive their favorite truck or hot rod. As we all know, Daiden loved anything with an engine.
