James Linton Freshour Sr

Freshour, James Linton, Sr. - age 88 of the Karns community in Knoxville, passed away at 9:36 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Freshour was born in Parrotsville, Tennessee on June 4, 1925. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a longstanding member and Deacon of Grace Baptist Church (Oak Ridge Highway). He was the past owner and operator of Knox ReTread and Tubes of Lenoir. Retired member of L.U. 24 IBEW. Jim was a Kerbela Temple Shriner, was a 32 degree Mason and member of the Masters Lodge #244. Preceded in death by his parents, Mose Franklin Freshour and Delcie Mason Freshour; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Edith and Creed Hill, Ethylene and James Ottinder, Marcella Burnett, Elizabeth Ann Freshour and Judith Yvonne Freshour; sister-in-law, Ruby Freshour; uncle Samuel Faubian “Sam”; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen and Freeman Bailey, Jim and Maureen Calfee, Mae and Allen French, Elsie and Loyal Place, Paul and Ruth Calfee, Billy Calfee, and Bertha Irene Stevenson. He is survived by his wife, Jean Calfee Freshour; son and daughter-in-law, James Linton Freshour, Jr. and wife Teresa; daughter and son-in-law, Linda F. Tallent and husband Robert (Bob) Tallent; grandchildren, Tracy H. Russell and husband John Mark Russell, Lori H. Shelton and husband Michael Shelton, James L. Freshour, III and Jeremy L. Freshour; great-grandchildren, Cole Shelton, Emily Russell, and Eli Russell; brother, Samuel M. Freshour; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay Burnette and husband Lloyd, Almeda Baker, Brenda Burns, Phil Magee, and Roy Burnett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Masonic Funeral Rites will be given by the Masters Lodge #244 F&AM at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel on Kingston Pike. A funeral service will follow officiated by Reverend Alfred T. Royer. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Faubian Cemetery in Parrotsville, Tennessee for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.
