Julia Marie Dodge Hueser

Hueser, Julia Marie Dodge, age 62 of Andersonville passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Tennova Physicians Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Julie was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She also taught a Sunday School Class and was a leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Julie was born August 14, 1952 in Knoxville, TN. She attended Central High School, graduating in 1970. She married Michael A. Hueser on October 30, 1976. She furthered her education at ETSU, graduated from Draughon Junior College of Business and earned her Certified Optician license from the American Board of Opticianry in 2000. She was employed by Tennessee Mini Farms, Knoxville Optical Supply, Hines Opthalmic Laboratory, LensCrafters, and the Eye Center of Oak Ridge. Julie was known for her outgoing and generous personality. As a resident of the Fountain City Sportsmen’s Club she often volunteered to cater meals and support outdoor and communal activities. After retirement she faithfully volunteered to provide vision services to many regional assisted living and nursing home residents. Julie was a caring neighbor and loyal friend to many, and a loving family member who looked after everyone with kindness and humor. She enjoyed fishing and boating on Norris Lake, vacations to Destin, and was always considered the life of the party. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Margaret Suddath and H. Allen Dodge, and sister Jeanne Dodge Coppenger. Survived by loving husband Mike Hueser; in-laws, Diane and Bill Treadway; David and Betty Hueser, Jeff Hueser, and Tom and Chastity Hueser; niece Angie Harper and husband Andy along with their children Alison and Aaron of Rockwood, and nephew Tom Coppenger and wife Beth of Maryville. Also survived by nieces Jami Baker, Jenny Wightman and Katy Hueser; nephews Jeremy Treadway, Jared Hueser, Nick Hueser and Bailey Hueser; cousins Marianne Worthington of Williamsburg, KY, Jane Worthington of Lebanon; and beloved godchildren Travis White and Hanley Coppock. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, November 21, 2014 at Fountain City United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life service in the sanctuary officiated by Reverends Randy Frye, Daniel Ogle, Amy Aycock, and Jim Whedbee. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery Saturday at 11:00 am for graveside services. Pallbearers will be David Hueser, Jeff Hueser, Tom Hueser, Bill Treadway, Rob White, Travis White, Jack Potts, and Trevor Coppock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Choir Fund or Youth Fellowship of the Fountain City United Methodist Church 212 Hotel Avenue Knoxville, TN 37918.
