Mrs. Katherine Cox Henry

Henry, Katherine Cox, age 74 of Knoxville, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, April 21, 2016. Kathy or Kat was she was lovingly called by her family, was born on February 1, 1942 to the late Onan and Hazel Cox and grew up in Maryville, TN. Kathy was a member of Grace Covenant Baptist Church, K-Town Red Hats and ROMEO’s; K-Town Sam’s Camping Club, Martha Washington Chapter #231 OES past Matron (1972) and was state president of the Tennessee Women’s Council of Realtors (1977). Kathy was a dotting daughter, mom, sister and grandmother. She always put others needs before her own and no matter the circumstances she always kept her faith and her sense of humor. She was the epitome of strength, having suffered so much loss and heartache in her life. She made everyone around her feel important and was loved by many precious friends. She was preceded in death by her Mom and Pop, husbands, Daniel Testerman (1974), Billy Locke (1982) and Ronald Henry (2002). Kathy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jill Locke; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Clift; brothers and sisters-in-law who adored her, Onan (Bud) and Chris Cox, Jack and Laverne Cox; grandson, Taylor; granddaughter-in-law, Kristen Locke; grandsons, Cody and Ryan Clift; special cousin and husband, Sandy and Herb Waters; nephews and their families, Brian and Becky Cox, Ben Cox, Jeff and Bridget Cox, Scott Cox and beloved puppy dog, Muffin. The family wished to thank the staff of Tenneova Turkey Creek Medical Center for their compassion and support during this most difficult time, especially the ICU nurses, Kate and Jordan, Dr. Dugal, Dr. Webb, Chaplain Will and others on the 2nd floor and in ICU who showed so much care and concern for Kathy and her family. We would like to thank all of her friends who so willingly volunteered to sit with her, drive her, run errands and most importantly pray for her. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Dr. Alan Smith officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:00 PM Sunday at Highland West Cemetery (Sherrill Lane) for a graveside service. Kathy loved flowers and she loved her church.
