Kathy Rolland Hoskins

Hoskins, Kathy Rolland - of Clinton, passed into the arms of the Lord on July 23, 2011 while at her home surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born July 6, 1950 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to parents RC (Dudley) and Katherine Jenkins Hoskins. She was raised in the Clinton community where she graduated from Clinton High School in 1967 with a tight group of close friends. Kathy attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. Her career was caring for her family as well as working in the family pharmacy and hospital supply business in both Harriman and Loudon. Kathy was born with many gifts. She was a gifted gardener and decorator. She loved antiques and surrounded herself with beautiful pieces from the past. Kathy was a historian and knew the importance of knowing her family’s story. She held tight to letters, pictures, even pieces of fabric that former generations had laid their hands on. Everyone that knew Kathy was aware of her greatest gift, the gift of gab. She loved to talk, loved conversation, and loved to reminisce. Her gift of gab was so extraordinary that her grandchildren affectionately called her Gabby. Kathy bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis, but did not allow her disease to define her. She enjoyed life to the fullest, and was the life of the party. Kathy was determined to live an active life until she was no longer able to do so. Kathy had a great love for her children Steve, Jessica and Keri. She will be missed greatly by lifelong friend Candy Holbrook Garrett, and cousin Eddie Key. The family would like to give special thanks to Kathy’s friends and devoted caregivers who assisted Kathy’s children in carrying out her wishes to live out her final years at her home in Clinton. Kathy is now joined in Heaven with parents RC and Katherine Hoskins, and granddaughter Addison Elizabeth Legg. She will be forever missed by children Walter Stephen “Steve” Stewart II, Jessica Stewart Legg and her husband Jason Legg and Keri Kathleen Stewart. Her grandchildren Jason (Jake) Legg Jr., Katherine (Kate) Legg, Reese Legg, and Olivia Creason. Her Sisters and brothers-in law, Dudley and Jenks Bostic, Sheree Herbst, and Mollie and Rick Scarbrough. Kathy was blessed with many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 27, 2011 beginning at 5:30 pm with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm at Second Presbyterian Church on Kingston Pike in Knoxville with The Reverend Bryan Wilson officiating.
