Linda June DeLozier Johnson

Linda June DeLozier was born August 11, 1942 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2024. Linda was a friend, mentor, teacher, and blessing to many across our nation and around the world. A true woman of God, she lived her life according to Galatians 2:20 and her Savior’s example. Linda was born to Harry S. and Ivalene C. DeLozier in Maryville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by both parents. Linda spent her first ten years in Maryville before the family moved to Oak Ridge and then to the Solway community in Knoxville. She graduated from Karns High School in 1960, where she was named “Wittiest” of her senior class. She then graduated from Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing in Chattanooga and thereafter worked at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where she met her future husband, Dr. Jerry Johnson. They served together in various ways ministering to people in need, whether it be physically, financially, and especially spiritually. She welcomed those needing sanctuary to stay in her home, ministering to them in her truly self-giving style with her love and the love of our Father. Linda was a counselor to many individuals over the years. She was a sought-after Bible study leader/speaker at many women’s conferences and invested her time making disciples of Jesus. Linda was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jerry, for 57 years and a loving mother to daughter, Amy Graham (John Mark) of Birmingham, Alabama, and two sons, David Johnson and Alan Johnson of Knoxville. She was “Nana” to nine grandchildren she loved so much: Cooper, Mary Lawson, Mimi, Reagan, and Hutton Johnson of Knoxville, and John Will, Samuel, Lydia, and Rebecca Graham of Birmingham. She was a great big sister to Sandy McRae and Stephen Delozier, and sister-in-law to George McRae, all of Knoxville. Linda leaves behind several close cousins in Maryville who will miss her deeply. The family cannot adequately express their heartfelt love and gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love to Linda before the Lord called her home. To the Jeff Rowe Sunday morning Bible Study class; to the ladies in her Bible Study/Prayer Group; to her deacon, you and your wife meant so much to her; and to Dotty and Boomer Lowe for your countless ways of ministering to Linda even before she became ill. God definitely sent you to her and the family to minister to and love on during a most difficult time.
