Lois Mitsuko Otsuki Arnwine

Lois Mitsuko Otsuki Arnwine, passed suddenly from this life to the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the age of 92. Born on October 27, 1929, Lois grew up in Honolulu, HI and experienced the horror of the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. In 1951, after graduation from high school and 2 years of business school, she joined the U.S. Navy stating that she “wanted to see the world.” She served as a communications specialist for seven years which included the Korean Conflict. During her time in service, Lois met and married Bill C. Arnwine from Knoxville. Upon learning that she was expecting her first child, she left the Navy and came to Knoxville to live. After the loss of her husband, Bill in 1961, she began a 28 year career with the Tennessee Valley Authority in the Construction Personnel Department. Upon her retirement she began a life of ministry in her local church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, assisted the widow’s ministry program, and traveled to several different countries on mission trips. Lois loved traveling around the world, cooking, studying God’s Word and enjoying the company of family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her father and mother, Kazuo and Misao Otsuki of Honolulu; her husband, Bill Sr., and son, Scott. She will be lovingly remembered by son, Bill Jr. and wife Karen; grandsons, Brandon and wife Mollie, Keith and wife Rebecca, Justin and wife Kristiana, Nathan and wife Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Ada Grace, Elaina, Sadie and Lincoln; sisters, Alma Wendel, Patsy Masters and husband William; brother, Thomas Otsuki and wife Edith; special sister-in-law, Gloria Hinshaw and many other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Trinity Hills Assisted Living for the loving care they provided. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 am Monday, October 10, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service with Chaplain David Collins officiating and Full Military Honors conducted by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church where Lois was a member and volunteer for many years.
