Maria C Rebori

Rebori, Maria Claudia Sanguineti , age 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 20, 2014, surrounded by family and as she had predicted , without wrinkles, at Olde Knox Commons Skilled Nursing Facility. Born July 10, 1925 in Chiavari (Genoa) Italy, Mrs. Rebori was the second of four daughters of the late Alfredo Sanguineti and Bianca Marre Sanguineti. She lived in Italy throughout World War II. In 1947, she met her husband, Colonel John Nicholas Rebori, Sr., a first generation American and son of a friend of the Marre family, while he was visiting family in Italy. They were married September 27, 1950 in Chiavari and made their home in Knoxville, TN where they were members of Sacred Heart Cathedral. Mrs. Rebori attended The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, receiving a BS in Psychology. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling with her husband, a retired TVA executive and volunteer for the International Executive Service Corps, while they served in the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law Nannette Divine Rebori. She is survived by her children: John Nicholas Rebori, Jr., and Anthony Rebori of Knoxville, TN; Anna Rebori Davis and husband Kevin J. Davis of Cornelius, NC, Stephen Rebori of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Rachele Rebori Potter of Chattanooga ,TN, John Nicholas Rebori, III, Leigh Rebori Chadwick and Antonia Rebori of Knoxville, TN, Elizaberh Davis and John C. Davis of Cornelius, NC; sisters: Giovanna Sanguineti Amadeo, Angela Sanguineti Amadeo and Margherita Sanguineti Dellepiane, of Genoa, Italy. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Olde Knox Commons, Huntersville, NC, and Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman for the extraordinary care provided to Mrs. Rebori. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with Monsignor Xavier Mankel and Father Arthur Torres officiating. Entombment will follow immediately at Highland Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
