Mary Stuart Bullock

Bullock, Mrs. Mary Stuart Smith - age 91 of Knoxville, Tennessee widow of Earl E. Bullock passed away Monday November 4, 2013 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Annie Hagy Smith and Claude L. Smith, a Bristol Merchant. Mary was reared in State Street United Methodist Church in Bristol but joined Broadway Baptist Church when she came to live in Knoxville. She was a member of the Moore-Lewis Bible Class, W.M.U. and enjoyed going on the Senior trips. Mrs. Bullock graduated from Bristol, Tennessee High School in 1940 and Bristol Business College. She was a book keeper for many years and especially loved her job at Bristol, Tennessee High School for the last Nineteen years of her career. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Claude L. Smith, Jr., Gaynelle Smith, and Anita Smith. Son-in-law, Charles R. Wardell; and special nephew, Claude Findlay Smith, many other beloved relatives and friends have greeted “Miss. Mary” as she arrived in heaven. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis E. Wardell with who she made her home and Jennifer S. and husband Danny Ray Miller of Piney Flats, grandchildren Matthew David, Dustin Wayne, Christopher Daniel, and wife Dr. Sabrina Miller. Great-grandchildren whom she adored Shelby Grace, Braden Christopher, and Kayleigh Renee Miller, two nieces and two nephews and a sister-in-law Jean Bullock, special cousin Peggy Jo Buchanan, and her beloved Church family and her companion, Polly. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Swilley and staff also to Paradise Cab Service for all that they had done for Mrs. Bullock. The family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2013 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel from 1:30 to 3:00 pm with funeral services following with Rev. Tim Turley officiating. Interment service will be 1:30 pm Saturday at Shelby Hills Cemetery in Bristol, Tennessee with Dr. Reggie Weems, Pastor of Heritage Baptist Church, officiating.
