Mary Bea Corbitt

Mary Bea Corbitt passed away on October 29, 2019 in Knoxville with her beloved family at her side. Bea was always a model of a true southern lady. A member of Second Presbyterian for over 50 years, she lived out her faith and leaves a legacy of love, joy and an endearing spirit. Bea enjoyed serving the community through her nearly 50 years as a Realtor, ultimately receiving the Knoxville Board of Realtors “Realtor Emeritus Award”. Bea was the first Realtor in the early 1970’s to have annual sales of One Million followed by Two Million in annual sales. She took pride in working hard, serving families with honesty and integrity, and accepted multiple awards and accolades throughout her career. She humbly broke multiple sales barriers in the industry, setting standards in both sales and service. Her work with both Ossoli Circle and P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter J meant so much to her and the relationships she formed there live on. She will always be remembered as an exemplary hostess, her sense of style and grace, her quick wit and intelligence, and most of all her unending kindness. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Mary Willie Rogers; husband, Maurice Corbitt; and brothers, Harold Dewey and Charles R. Rogers. She is survived and will be dearly missed by sons, R. Steve Corbitt and Mindy Jordan, of Nashville, James J. Corbitt and wife Jan of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tyler Christopher Corbitt, Asia and great-grandson Alexander Henry Corbitt, Abigail Marie Corbitt; nephew, Ricky Rogers and wife Beverly of Memphis; great-nephew Steven Rogers; and many other extended family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her physician Dr. Kenneth Reese and his medical staff; Covenant Hospice; caregivers, Sarah Emmanuel, Beverly Taylor, Linda King, and Patricia Vance; and special friends, Doris Hudnall, Aileen Smith, Ruth Fox, Betty Campbell, Sarah Petty and Kathy Tallent whose unconditional love and continuous laughter carried them through life’s journeys together. Our special thanks to Cheryl Williams, Bea’s daily prayer companion. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at 2:00pm at Second Presbyterian Church, Reverend Tim Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall. A Private Family Interment is to be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
