Mary Jane Forsythe

Mary Jane Forsythe, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 passed away peacefully. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Forsythe from 1949 until his passing in 2006. She was the loving Mother of Judy (Mike) Massey and Tom (Melissa Stooksbury) Forsythe. Beloved Grandmother of Matt Massey, Bryan (Jessica) Forsythe and Aftin Forsythe (fiance Josh McGrew). Great-Grandmother of Addy Forsythe. Survived by her sister, Jesse Wischer and preceded in death by her late siblings James (Lorraine), Jerome (Jean), Kathleen and Roland (Donna) Wischer, plus her many nieces and nephews. Longtime Mother-in Law of Norma Forsythe. Lifelong friend of Howard (and the late Marian) Jaeger. Dear friend of Frances McGinnis, Jack and Selma Wheeler, Maria Samples and Debbie Graham of the Smart Style salon, plus many other cherished relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Mary Jane was very happy to be a resident of Windsor Gardens Assisted Living. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to their staff for providing her with extraordinarily compassionate care at their outstanding facility. She was truly “at home” at Windsor Gardens during her entire residency there. The family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Udit Chaudhuri, M.D. Mary Jane and Chuck were his first ever patients after he had opened his Knoxville practice. Dr. Chaudhuri, his nurses and staff had cared for them both as though they, too, were members of their own families. Mary Jane's family would also like to extend their sincerest thanks Dr. Albert Blacky, M.D., Michelle Martin and the rest of the staff from Cardiology Associates of Eastern Tennessee, plus Dr. Nadim Jubran, D.D.S. and this staff for providing her with outstanding medical and dental care over the past 30 years. Special thanks to the 5th floor staff of Park West Hospital for their empathetic care during this most difficult past week. Mary Jane was a dedicated volunteer for many years at the Tennova Residential Hospice in Halls Crossroads and she lovingly touched the lives of many people. In 2016 Mary Jane had been recognized for exceptional volunteerism when she was awarded a “Who's Who in Tennessee Long Term Care.” Mary Jane devotedly cared for patients and their families at their most sensitive time. She provided this service cheerfully despite being afflicted with advanced macular degeneration. She was also a member of the Sunshine Society of Knoxville. She will be missed by many, many people. A private viewing for family members, only, will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. All are invited to join the family for Mary Jane's graveside service on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 beginning at 11:30 AM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Lyon's View Pike, Knoxville with Rev.
