Mary Ruth Wright

WRIGHT, MARY RUTH- age 96, born in (Knoxville, Tennessee), being a loving mom and gentle person, went home to be with the LORD March 10th, 2022, at her home with family and friends. She was the daughter of Alliwissus Loftus, and Minnie Mae Loftus. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank Wright, Brother James (Stump) Loftus, Sister Georgia Franklin. Surviving children are Glen Wright, Wanda Valentine (Darrell), Danny Wright (Barbara), eight grandchildren: Glenda Moneymaker (Vernon), Aaron Wright (Jessie), Kristy Henderson (Beau), Abby Eakin, Molly Cunningham (Keith), Darren Valentine (Rebecca), Chris Valentine, Angela Brown (Nathan), 13 great grandchildren, and honorary son Ronnie Hill. She was a member of Grove City Baptist Church and later a long-time member of North Knoxville Baptist church. She was a very devoted mother who raised three children alone after her husband became ill at a very young age and an inspirational woman to her grandchildren and those she loved. She worked at Brookside Mill, Wintergreen Foods, Oak Ridge Laboratory (during WW11), Knox County Parks and Recreation, Knoxville School Patrol Safety Program, retiring with Zayre Retail stores after 30 years of service as an area store manager. Known to be a hard worker, amazing, patient, and affectionate woman, she would often have two jobs simultaneously to ensure her children's needs were met even during the most difficult of times. She was a kind-hearted, loving–spirited lady who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her smile shined in a way that spoke love and comfort, lighting up a room, and lifting the hearts of those around her. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Sunday March 13, 2022, at ROSE FUNERAL & CREAMATION BROADWAY. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.
