Michael V. Carver

Michael V. Carver, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at his home on January 24, 2026. The most important parts of Mr. Carver’s life were his God, his family, his friends, and helping others. He was a humble, thankful, and blessed man who loved making people feel good about themselves. He was an avid horseman and greatly enjoyed supporting the Tennessee Volunteers. Mr. Carver, son of the late Gene and Lucy Carver, was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He enjoyed a long and successful career in medical products sales and consulting, during which he developed numerous business relationships across the United States. In 2017, he was inducted into the Medical Distribution Hall of Fame and retired in 2021. Throughout his life, Mr. Carver lived in Lexington, Kentucky; Huntington, West Virginia; and for the past 38 years, Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an active member of NewLife Gathering Church in Knoxville, TN. He was deeply involved in mission projects within both his church and community, generously donating and helping raise funds for those in need. His greatest passion was supporting FISH Hospitality Pantry, where he volunteered and served as a devoted member for more than 20 years. Mr. Carver is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Carver, whom he affectionately called “Ginbug.” He is also survived by his three sons: Ryan Michael Carver and Clay Vincent Carver of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Charles Kirkpatrick (Ashley) Carver of Greensboro, North Carolina. He is survived by his daughter, Caroline Patricia Carver of Cookeville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Marghee Claire Carver of Knoxville, Tennessee; Trey Vincent Carver (currently on active duty with the U.S. Army); Ryan Michael Carver II and Kimberleigh Jamison Carver of Bradenton, Florida; and Charles Brooks Carver and Collins Elizabeth Carver of Greensboro, North Carolina. He is further survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Debbie and Bill Hively of Richmond, Virginia, and Sandy and Brad Anderson of Bloomington, Illinois; his nephew, Jason Hively of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his nieces, Jill Anderson of Chicago, Illinois, and Melanie Hively of Richmond, Virginia; and his very special grandniece, Morgan Hively of Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FISH Hospitality Pantry or NewLife Gathering church of Knoxville, TN. The family will recieve friends on Saturday, February 7th, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at NewLife Gathering, 1300 Rocky Hill Rd. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev.
