Miriam Hegidio

Hegidio, Miriam - age 94, entered Heaven on Friday, October 4, 2013, to spend forever with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and with her beloved husband Louie. Mimi, as most people knew her, surely exemplified the Proverbs 31 virtuous woman, quietly serving others in Jesus' name. Her life was devoted to creating a Christian home for her husband and two daughters, Nancy and JoAnn, giving to those in need, and serving in her church, Central Baptist Bearden. Everyone loved Mimi's gentle spirit, sweet smile, and positive outlook. For the last three years she has made her home at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in West Knoxville, and there also she made friends that she soon regarded as family. "Miss Mimi's" family is deeply thankful for the loving care given to her by the gentle, dedicated staff of Arbor Terrace. She is preceded in death by her precious husband of 67 years, Louie Hegidio. They adored each other, and their marriage was an example to many who knew them. Mimi is survived by her brother Dr. Bill Belmont of Sarasota, FL; daughter JoAnn Smith and husband Larry of Collierville, TN; daughter Nancy Reeves and husband Mike of Knoxville; grandchildren Brad Reeves of Tampa, FL and fiance Jaimie Gerity of Tampa, FL, Christin Smith Harrison of Ozark, MO, Lane Smith of Hoover, AL, and Derek Reeves of Hixson, TN; great grandchildren Joshua and Bethany Harrison, Braden and Anna Hope Reeves, Nathan, Seth, and Adam Reeves, and Grace Ann, Blake, and Jon Brooks Smith; her nephew Dr. David Nothington and wife Stephanie of Knoxville; niece Pam Taylor of Cartersville, GA., other great nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7 at 6:00 PM at Central Baptist Church Bearden. Her family will receive friends following the service. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Volunteer Ministry Center, P.O.
