Nancy Joan Frisbie

Nancy Joan was born December 3, 1941 in Belding, MI to Henry and Eunice Frisbie. Several years later she was blessed with a sister Barbara Ellen. In 1959, she graduated from James Couzens High School in Bath, MI. Nancy was a member of the Student Council; the Glee Club; the Senior Play- Home Sweet Homicide; the National Honor Society and the Senior Class president. She wanted to travel the world upon graduation and visit places like Brazil and Japan. She hope to become a Teacher. On October 20, 1962, she married Andrew Crissey. They had 4 children- Hollie, Andrew, Heath and Bethann. Nancy divorced in 1985 and never remarried. Nancy moved back to the family farm in Bath to be close to her family. She retired from the State of Michigan and applied for and received a foster care license. Over the next several years she took in children aged 6 months to 14 years. Doing her best to make them feel loved and wanted. Two of these children she adopted, Cordell and Dylan. In 2004, she was diagnosed with cancer she had to stop her foster care. This broke her heart. During her cancer treatment she started raising dogs. She tried several breeds before settling on Chihuahua. They were her constant companion thru all of her medical treatments. She moved to Tennessee in 2008 and split her time between winters in Tennessee and summers in Michigan until her cancer returned in 2015. The treatment resulted in permanent heart damage making it impossible for her drive and get out on her own. She used her time at home to explore her creative side sewing and crocheting items for those she loved. She found joy in family- her children, grandchildren Coutney, Brandon, Raymond and Ethan. Great-grandchildren Zoey, Brandon, Jr., Aramena and Tobias. Her niece Anastasia and great nephew Adien. She looked forward to meeting her great niece in August. Always ready for adventure, she annually traveled parts of the World’s Longest Yard sale. She went to Chicago in 2018 to visit her loins. In 2019, she went to Boston to visit the founding fathers gravesites, the Frisbie Pie Company and New York to see the World Trade Center Memorial. Last May; she spent an afternoon of laughter and fun, celebrating Mother’s day 4 wheeling with her 2 daughters and grand-daughter-in-law Elizabeth. Nancy received her wings July 5, 2020 in Knoxville, TN. Fly high and be free of pain our Love.
