Odette Nabeeh Amireh Eid

EID, ODETTE NABEEH AMIREH- age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital, Hospice. Odette was born in Lydda, Palestine on November 28, 1927. Upon the onset of the 1948 war and the loss of their home, the Amireh Family moved to Ramallah, Palestine. There she met her husband, Nabeeh. They married in 1958 and moved to Amman, Jordan, where she was a house wife who lovingly took care of Nabeeh and their sons Kamil and Faris, as well as her in-laws and others. She also worked as a seamstress to support her family. In 1975, Nabeeh and Odette decided to change life’s trajectory and to immigrate to America for the sake of their sons' educations. The family settled in Knoxville where her sister and brother-in-law, Renee' and Sameer Jubran lived. They began a new life, owned a grocery store and put their two sons through college at The University of Tennessee. She retired in 1989, but continued to support the family through her hobby as a seamstress. She was beloved by all who knew her and adored for her beautiful sweet smile and loving spirit. She received so much joy from feeding her delicious Arabic cuisine to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Nabiha Amireh; husband, Nabeeh; brothers Mahfouz and Tony Amireh; sister, Laurice Shatara. Odette is survived by her sons, Kamil Eid and wife Aroub (Amman, Jordan), Faris Eid and wife Ghada (Alcoa, TN); grandchildren, Ranya (Washington, DC), Anthony and wife Maria (Boston, MA.), Marwan and Rami (Alcoa TN), Sereen and Marianna (Amman, Jordan); sisters, Yvonne Suliman (Birzeit, West Bank), Nuha Zarou (San Jose, CA), Renee’ Jubran (Louisville, TN), and brother Michel Amireh (Amman, Jordan); and many sister-in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Mahdi Budayr and the rest of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Blount Memorial Hospital for their loving care during her final days. We also want to thank our family and friends for all their continued support and love. Pallbearers are: Samer Shatara, Ramzey Amireh, Nadim Eid, Nadim R. Jubran, Logan Kuchinic, Anthony Eid, Marwan Eid, Rami Eid. Receiving of friends will be at Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, on Wednesday, December 12, from 5:00 to 6:45 p.m., followed by the traditional Trisagion prayer service, with Father Anthony Stratis officiating. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Kingston Pike, followed by the interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway Alcoa, TN 37701. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
