Parker Bruce Cliff

Parker Bruce Cliff, born in Anderson County, TN, on March 19, 1946, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2025, with his devoted wife, Connie, by his side. Bruce was preceded in death by his loving family parents, Edgar and Otella Cliff, and brother, Steven Cliff. He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Cliff, and dear friends Darrell Oakley and Edgar Kerley. As the son of a mechanic, Bruce grew up surrounded by tools and mechanical devices, sparking his natural curiosity. His early years were filled with hands-on exploration, from dismantling objects to figure out how they worked, to building creations like go-carts from spare parts, and experimenting with homemade science projects such as rockets and mini pressure cookers. Miraculously, he survived these adventures with all his fingers and toes intact, gaining a solid understanding of physics, mechanics, electronics, and construction early in life. Bruce graduated from Holston High School in 1964 and attended the University of Tennessee. During his college years, he worked, served in the National Guard, and joined Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, focusing on Transportation with a minor in Education. After college, Bruce pursued various roles, including teaching in the Knoxville City School System for one year—an experience he described as “the most difficult and rewarding job he ever had.” He also earned a realtor’s license and worked in real estate before assisting a friend with an engraving business in 1973. That role became a lifelong passion. Bruce eventually expanded the business to include awards and trophies, and by 1976, he became the sole owner of Brandon’s Inc. In 1988, Bruce built a new facility for Brandon’s Inc. on Bearden Hill in Knoxville, a milestone he was especially proud of. Bruce and Connie married in 1973 and, in 1976, built a log home in West Knoxville using logs from the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. They poured their hearts into the home, completing much of the work together by hand. Despite their busy schedules, Bruce and Connie loved camping, hiking, and traveling. Bruce especially cherished Montana, and in 2005, they purchased a house near Glacier National Park, spending many months of the year there. “We eventually sold the Montana house, but still miss it,” Bruce would often say. Bruce was an active member of the community, serving as a Rotary Club member since 1989 and as a member of the Knoxville Better Business Bureau Board of Directors for over 20 years. In 2021, after deciding to downsize and enjoy a simpler life, Bruce and Connie moved to “The Lodge.” Bruce will be remembered for his love of life, his devotion to his wife, Connie, his loyal friends, and his cherished Brandon’s Awards and Engraving family. He had a passion for all things cowboy, Ham Radios, trains, golf, University of Tennessee sports, flyfishing, and the mountains he loved so dearly. The family invites friends to a visitation at Rose Mann Mortuary on February 7, 2025, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
