Richard Alan Forester

Richard Alan Forester, age 87, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2021. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden and Sunday School class 8-B. He delivered food for the Central Baptist FISH program and delivered meals for the Mobile Meals program. He served as a Deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. Richard went to Bearden High School and graduated from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with a degree in Business Administration (Accounting). He was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and retired from Jacobs Applied Technology in Orangeburg, SC as Chief Financial Officer. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his buddies at over 240 courses. He served in the United States Army. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth Forester; his wonderful wife of 58 years, Jane Gilmore Forester; and beloved sister-in-law, Nadine Cruze. He is survived by his son, David (Darnelly) Forester of Maggie Valley, NC; daughter, Jeanine (Steve) Studley of Oak Ridge, NJ; grandchildren, Daniel Forester and Darla Forester of Maggie Valley, NC and Jamey Studley of Oak Ridge, NJ; sister, Nancy (Phil) Steinmetz of Gainesville, TX; and his cherished 106 year old aunt, Mamie Forester of Loudon, TN, who resided with him. Funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021, Rose Funeral and Cremation - Mann. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m., preceding the service. Interment will take place 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his wife.
