Richard "Rick" Wayne Irwin

Richard “Rick” Wayne Irwin, 65 of Knoxville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Rick was born in Knoxville to Roscoe “RC” Irwin and Margaret Louellen Irwin on February 7, 1953. He graduated from Farragut High School and University of Tennessee as a drafting major. Rick owned Rick’s Body Shop in Knoxville for eighteen years and later went on to provide Home Improvement Services in the Knoxville area. Rick served in the Army National Guard for eight years and was deeply involved in the NSAI in Nashville and served as Vice President of KSA (Knoxville Songwriters Association). Songwriting was Rick’s passion. He was a strong, but a gentle man who loved music, his wife Robin and his son Ricky more than life itself. Rick’s faith carried him through good times and struggles. He often rejoiced from the blessings laid upon him in life and with his Tuesday Bible Study Group. Tuesdays became Rick’s favorite day to spend with friends. Rick was preceded in death by parents Roscoe “RC” and Louellen Irwin and sister, Mary Lou Kennedy. Rick is survived by wife of 28 years, Robin Fox Irwin, son, Richard “Ricky” Irwin, Jr. (Ema) and granddaughter, Emily Taylor Irwin. Sister, Pam Freitag and Brother, Billy Irwin. Special Nephew & Niece, Kyle Irwin and Melissa Woodruff (Alvin). Stepmother, Lucille Irwin, Step brothers & sisters, Mike Flynn (Kathy), Steve Flynn and Tina Flynn. Very Special Aunt and Uncle, Effie & Bill Strong. Sister-in-law, Sharon Bailey (Dick Brower), Brother-in-law Tom Fox (Merri Lee) and Niece, Wrenn Spann (Britton) and so many close friends who he always made feel like family. The family invites you to share the Celebration of Life Service on 4:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike with Dr. Alan Smith officiating.
