Theodore Paul Siler, Jr.

*Updated Service Information* Theodore Paul Siler, Jr. (Paul) passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, following a long battle with cancer. Paul was born on July 14, 1939, in Bristol, Virginia to Mary Hammock Faust Siler and T. Paul Siler, Sr. He graduated from the Baylor School in Chattanooga and from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. While at UT he met his wife of 64 years, Susan (Susie) Reeder. Following college, Paul served as an Army Lieutenant at Fort Sill, Oklahoma for two years. After his military service, he moved to Bristol, Tennessee where he ran his late father’s food brokerage business. In 1969, he moved to Knoxville and worked as General Manager and later owner of Reeder Chevrolet. Paul retired from the automotive business in 2004, and Susie and Paul spent their winters in Naples, Florida where they enjoyed playing golf with friends. Paul was very active in his community and in his industry. He served as a member of Knoxville Rotary Club, as President of Tennessee Automotive Association, as a University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associate, and as a graduate of Leadership Knoxville. His long-time work on the Salvation Army Knoxville Advisory Board earned him the honor of Life Member. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his daughter, Mary Siler Walker (husband Bill); his son, T. Paul Siler, III (wife Shay); three grandchildren, Willis Reeder Walker (wife Erica), Elise Walker Cottam (husband Kole), and Reed Michael Siler; and three great-grandchildren, Meredith Banks Walker, Callie Anne Cottam, and Walker Warren Cottam. He also leaves behind his brother, Thomas (Tom) Allan Siler (wife Priscilla), and his stepsister, Margaret Moore Parker of Chattanooga. The family would like to thank Mary Sowell and her caregivers at Compassionate Hands: Anthony Garner, Kipper Milmege, Rebecca Ledford, Maribel Acosta, and Kristi Reynolds. The family will participate in a private burial. A celebration of life will be held at Bearden United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 25th at 3:00pm with a receiving of friends to follow.
