Crawford - Trula “Sylvia” Crawford, age 91, a lifelong resident of Knoxville who had made her home in Chattanooga for the past two years departed this life peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2011, into the hands of God her Savior where she is now reunited with her precious family & friends. She was a devoted and loving wife and caregiver to husband Curtis(who preceded her in death), a precious mother to her daughters and loved all her family very much. She was also preceded in death by an infant son David, mother: Mary Jane Stalsworth; father: Grover C. Stalsworth; step-mother: Callie Stalsworth; sisters: Ella Mae Hartley, Osa Livingston, Effie Willings; Brothers: Amos Stalsworth, Grover C. Stalsworth,Jr., Wayne Stalsworth; dear friend: Bonnie Smith. She loved her Sunday School Class and her church Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church. She had retired from J.C. Penny after nearly 25 years at the downtown Knoxville store on Gay St. Her favorite past time was being outside in the warm sunshine tending to her flowers. Oh how she loved the warm sun. She was a soft spoken, gentle lady, a little shy, and had the most loving eyes and sweet smile. She was a sweet and happy lady with a positive attitude. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors: daughters: Judy (Tom) Webster; Shirley Jennings (Wayne Schott); grandchildren: Stephanie (Brent) Fuhrman, Jeff (Misty) Webster, David Jennings, Melissa Helton; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Ford & Hayes Fuhrman, McKenzie Webster, Jordon Jennings, Nick Helton; sisters: Ruby Busler, Barbara Rasnake, Gennie Stalsworth and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and love to caregivers at The Terrace at Mountain Creek in Chattanooga, TN. including: Mona “Nona” Smith, Cheryl Bryson, Penny Ruth, Tia Corey, Sarah Burnett and Kathy Hitchcock. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Funeral Service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. David Collins officiating.
