Virginia Marie Scotti Milford

MILFORD, Virginia Marie Scotti. – age 97, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at NHC Farragut Assisted Living. She was born in South Pekin, IL. Prior to moving to Knoxville in 1993 to be near family, she was a long time resident of Pekin, IL . She retired from Pekin Memorial Hospital after more than 15 years where she served as Department Head and Director of the Volunteer Department. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church; Chapter S, PEO Sisterhood; and Knoxville Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 25 years, Attorney Richard Milford of Pekin, IL; parents, Louis Scotti and Carrie Vandveer Scotti of South Pekin, IL; brother James Byron Scotti; and nephew James R. Scotti both of Pekin, IL. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Scot (Joellyn) Milford of Rolling Meadows, IL and daughters and son-in-law Donna Wischmann and Sally (Don) Lighter of Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren are Marc (Kristin) Lighter, Karen (Mark) Doerger, Eric Wischmann, Amy Lighter (Jeffrey)Steill, Megan (Jonathan) Dunaway, Caitlin (William) Ezzell, Justin Milford, Allison Milford. Great-grandchildren are Victoria, Catherine, William and Alexander Doerger; Madison and Grant Wischmann; Aislin, Dylan, and Avery Steill; Miranda and Brandon Lighter; Sophia Dunaway; Elijah Milford, and Virginia Ezzell. Other close relatives and special friends: Nephews Steve Scotti of Dallas, TX and Dick Scotti of Pekin; and nieces Valerie Conner and Linda Greer of Pekin. Thanh (Hung) Tran and children Christopher and Harrison; Khanh (Jennifer) Cao and children Tommy, Ryan and Connor. Special thanks to NHC Assisted Living in Farragut and Caris Hospice for their loving care of our mom and grandmother. Services will be held at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 7001- S Northshore Dr. at 10am on Monday, December 22, 2014 followed by visitation with the family in the church fellowship hall. Rev. David Graybeal will officiate. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church 7001- S Northshore Dr. Knoxville 37919, Knoxville Chapter Embroiderers Guild, or P.E.O. Sisterhood Star Scholarship.
