Zafer Roback II

Roback, Zafer II - age 34, of Knoxville, born May 5th, 1980, died on December 8th, 2014. Zafer was a lifelong member of First Baptist Concord where he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1988. He was a graduate of Farragut High School, class of 1999. Zafer then graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, class of 2004. He worked for seven years at Clayton Homes in Knoxville. Zafer was an athlete all of his life, enjoying soccer, basketball, water sports, snow skiing, and was a Black Belt in both Karate and Judo. He enjoyed coaching his children in sports and provided a positive influence in the lives of many. Zafer adored his family and was an incredible husband, father, son, and brother. He was hilarious, charismatic, respectful, loyal, and loved by everyone who met him. Zafer was and will be unforgettable. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ashley Slagle Roback, 2013; brother, Rasheed Roback, 1974; grandparents, Maria and Edmond Faulkner, and Roy and Jamelah Roback; aunt Mary Lil Faulkner Griffith; uncle, Ramsey Roback; cousin, John Faulkner, Jr. Zafer is survived by his children, Zafer (Trey) Roback III and Olivia Winter Roback; parents, Zafer I and Ann Roback; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kelley Roback, Keshia and Ralph Youmans, Kephanie and Greg Landess; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Ann Slagle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Brennan Thompson, Mimi and Blake Rust, and Scott Slagle; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Zafer’s life will take place on Saturday, December 13, at 7:30 pm at First Baptist Church Concord in the worship center with Rev. Jason Hayes officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Trust for the children, Trey and Olivia Roback Trust, in care of FSG Bank, 155 N. Campbell Station Road, Knoxville, TN 37934. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at First Baptist Church Concord in the worship center. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
