Allen L. “Reddog” Hicks, 74, of Knoxville, passed away on March 30, 2021, at his home. He was a member of Callahan Road Baptist Church. He was a member of Powell High School Class of 1967, and a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Preceded in death by Mother, Frankie Wolfenbarger Hicks and father, Bob Hicks, Aunt Nellie and Granny. Survived by sister, Peggie (Jim) Ellington; close cousins Gary Wolfenbarger and Sandy Adams; special friend Sherri Cobble; several cousins and a host of friends. He loved tinkering in the barn, John Wayne and horseback riding, especially in the mountains at Big South Fork. But his greatest joy in recent years was derived from participating with his Sunday School class in the Christmas project for the children in Del Rio, TN. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Callahan Road Baptist Church with services following at 4:30 pm, the Reverend Marc Sasser officiating. Family and friends will meet at Washburn Baptist Church cemetery, Washburn, TN on Saturday morning at 11:30 am for graveside services and interment. Pallbearers are Gary Wolfenbarger, Mike Adams, Jim Ellington, Brad Butcher, Jason Butcher and Butch Butcher. Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Ashe, Gary Brewton, David Hurst, Arnold Jones, David “Otis” Ogle, Walter Ridenour, Gary Rutherford, Tommy "TK” Shropshire and Brad Walker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Callahan Rd Baptist Church Christmas project for the children of Del Rio,Tenn. or the ALS Association. condolences and stories can be shared on Roses Mortuary website.
