Arlene T. Bobrowski of Knoxville, Tennessee died on 25 November 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville from injuries sustained in a fall. She was born in Cavendish, Vermont in August 1922 and was 98 years old at the time of her death. Mrs. Bobrowski is survived by her three daughters, Rozalia (Edmund) Case of Maryland, Joanne (Richard) Jensen of Virginia, and Sophie Bobrowski of Knoxville; her grandsons, Eric (Chesley) Case and Brian Jensen; and her great-grandson Camden Case. In addition, she is survived by several nephews and cousins. Born and raised in Vermont, Arlene graduated from Black River High School in Ludlow, Vermont in 1940 and then attended Albany Business College in New York. After graduation, she returned to Vermont and became a secretary for the Jones & Lamson Machine Co. in Springfield, VT. She moved to Massachusetts upon her marriage to John Bobrowski in 1949. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1986 where they enjoyed living for 21 years before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2007 to be closer to their daughter Sophie. Arlene was devoted to her family and believed her greatest achievement was raising her three daughters. However, her pride & joy were her two grandsons and her great-grandson. Arlene enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She twice visited her parents’ homeland of Poland where she met her Polish relatives. She enjoyed traveling to Maryland and Virginia to spend time with her grandsons and to Vermont to be with other family members. In Florida, Arlene and her husband were active members of the General Electric Retirees’ Club. While living in Florida, she enjoyed helping her husband grow orchids. She often reminisced about how, at the age of 5, she was selected to present Mrs. Grace Coolidge, the wife of then President Calvin Coolidge, with a bouquet of flowers. Mrs. Coolidge had accompanied the President when he came to inspect damage to Cavendish from ‘The Great 1927 Flood’. Mrs. Bobrowski was preceded in death by her husband of more than 62 years, John, her parents Anthony & Mary Antoniewicz; her sister Sophie Snarski; and her brothers Arthur and Narcyz Antoniewicz. Mrs. Bobrowski will be laid to rest in Cavendish, Vermont beside her husband John. Due to the pandemic, a service and interment will occur at a later date.
