Betty Ross (Loveday) Dailey

Betty Ross (Loveday) Dailey age 80, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday January 23, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Betty worshipped and served at North Lonsdale Church of God, Dante Church of God and Wallace Memorial Baptist. God was first life and she worked diligently serving others by assisting at food and clothing pantries, bus ministry, answering phones and hosted a weekly Bible teaching radio ministry at WKXV AM 990 for many years. It was the segments of her life, that left her raising two young children on her own, that created a real-life Wonder Woman with God’s help. She persevered and overcame challenges and obstacles that unfortunately, many today would find it difficult to match. You only have to meet her children, to see firsthand, just a few of the fruits of her labor. Betty worked several years as a licensed cosmetologist and seamstress in a large local textile mill. In fact, there were many early mornings spent walking her kids to school and then walking on to work and back again. Her energy and desire to succeed aided her greatly with “on the side” income efforts as a successful Distributor level team member in multi-marketing companies such as; Stanley Home Products, Tupperware and Avon. Betty was an incredible mom and loyal friend to many. However, the most important thing to her was fighting the good fight and running the race her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ set before her. At the end of that daunting challenge, she crossed the finish line a victor and passed peacefully with family at her side. 2 Timothy 4:7. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lindsey Dailey, grandson, James Vandergriff, parents, Ray & Irene Loveday, and sisters: Debbie Johnson, Barbara Holden and Sandra “Doodle” Cox. She is survived by her son, John D. & Tamra King, daughters: Sonya R. Thourson and Monique R. Dailey; daughter-in-love, Benivia Sapp, great-granddaughter, Bryleigh Breeden, brother, Billy Ray Loveday, nieces: Tracy Craft and Jessie Branum, and grandnieces: Keriann, Tabby & Heaven Branum. The family will receive friends on Friday January 27, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway (1421 N. Broadway Knoxville, TN. 37917). Family and friends will meet Saturday January 28, 2023 at 2:45 pm at Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery (11270 Yarnell Road Knoxville, TN. 37932) for a 3:00 pm graveside service officiated by Rev. Kent Williams.
