Billy Joe Stephens age 78, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, United States Army Veteran, and member of the Iron Workers Local 384. He also worked for Knoxville Drywall. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Deliah Lyle and Alice “Peachie” Faulkner. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, June Stephens, sons, Mark (Carrie) Stephens and Michael (Chris) Stephens, grandchildren: Allysa, Zarian, and Sam Stephens; brothers, Eddie (Penny) Stephens and Fred (Sue) Stephens, sister, Leslie (David) Stephens, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Rose Funeral and Cremation Broadway, immediately followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Justin Pratt and Bishop Billy McCool. Family and friends will meet Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 9:45 am at East TN Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Hwy) for a 10:00 am interment.
