Glenda Hurst Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenda (Sayne) Hurst was called by God to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 30, 2022, with her children by her side. Waiting to greet her was her husband, Herbert, parents, and infant grandson, Justin. Left to carry her legacy are children, Rick Hurst and wife, Connie, Melinda “Sugar” Frye and husband Mark; grandchildren, Kristen (Adam) Fritts, Abby (Britt) Harris, Andrea Frye, Chris (Karen) Valentine, Aletha (Adam) Shadrick; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Gabrielle, Jerry; sister, Kaye Lunsford; sisters-in-law, Betty Fricks, Judy Murrell; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends. Glenda was the eldest lifelong member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. She worked for the Knox County School System until her retirement. She will be most remembered for her love of children and her church. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 3rd at Rose Funeral and Cremation – Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike from 12:00-1:00pm. We will meet at Edgewood Cemetery at 2:00pm for a Graveside Service, Dr. Scott Whaley officiating.
