Hildegard McBee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hildegard Schmidt McBee, age 91 of Knoxville, passed away unexpectedly at Tennova Turkey Creek, Monday, July 11, 2022. She will be remembered for her outsized personality which never matched her small stature. Hilde was born in Oberhausen, Germany in 1930 and came to the US in 1953. She worked as a bookkeeper in the accounting business she owned with her husband. Hilde also managed the family’s numerous long- and short-term rental properties. She enjoyed the beach and sharing her German heritage with friends and family. Hilde was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elisabeth and Carl Schmidt and her husband, Glenn Siler McBee. Hilde is survived by sons: Robert (Kerry) McBee, Nashville, TN; Don McBee, Knoxville, TN; Fred (Elizabeth) McBee, Knoxville, TN; and Steve (Kimberly) McBee, Denver, NC; grandchildren: Christopher McBee, Knoxville, TN; Ryan (Kristen) McBee, Knoxville, TN; Emily McBee, Knoxville, TN; Nicholas (Krista) McBee, Granbury, TX; and Tyler McBee, Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren: Aryanna, Kasey and Maddox, Granbury, TX; Theo and Margot McBee, Knoxville, TN; and Isaiah, Nora and Ruby McBee, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive visitors Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 10:00am – 12:00pm. The Service will follow the visitation at Rose Funeral and Cremation – Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, with The Reverend Christopher Hogin officiating. Interment will be at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
