Joan Noe Justus, age 72, of Knoxville, Tennessee, died Friday, June 11, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after her courageous fight against Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born June 14, 1948 to James Clyde and Billie May Noe of Morristown, Tennessee who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, her brother Jimmy and sister Linda. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Ron, one son, Jamie (Jennifer) of Nashville, one daughter, Alyson Teague (David) of Nashville, and four grandchildren, Sharp, Lillian Kirk, Justus, and Reagan. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and grew up in Morristown. She graduated from Morristown High School and received her BA in Interior Design from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After college, she worked at several retailers, managing several departments. After raising her children, she worked 14 years as an administrative assistant at Coulter & Justus. Joan was an avid dog-lover, gifted decorator, consummate hostess, and fantastic cook. She loved holidays, especially Christmas, showing love through cooking for her family and friends and sending hundreds of Christmas cards. She had a unique ability to give the perfect gift at all occasions. Joan and Ron loved to travel to experience the splendor of far-reaching countries and cultures and to strengthen close relationships with special friends. Joan was a member of Central Bearden for 46 years, serving as a teacher in children's Sunday school and Girls in Action. Her love of the Lord was evident in her self-sacrifice, service to others, and love of all God's children. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Saturday, June 19th, at Central Bearden, 6300 Dean Hill Drive, to be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30. Family and close friends will meet at 4:15 pm for a 4:30 pm graveside service later that day at Shiloh Cemetery, 133 Shiloh Church Road, Rutledge, Tennessee. The family offers special thanks to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center nurses and doctors for their exceptional care.
