    Lucille Ridenour Stooksbury

    November 6, 1930 - February 2, 2022

    Lucille Ridenour Stooksbury, age 91, of Knoxville went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday February 2, 2022, at Sacred Ground Hospice House. She was born Evelyn Lucille Ridenour on November 6, 1930, in Knoxville, TN to Henry and Louisa Ridenour. Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother named “Nana” by her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and was an organist and pianist for several churches in the area. After being a homemaker, she worked for Traveler’s Insurance Company for over 20 years. She loved reading books, vacationing at Daytona Beach, watching UT football and the Lady Vols. Lucille was preceded in death by husband, Milas B. Stooksbury; parents, Henry and Louisa Ridenour, and brother, Elmer E. Ridenour. She is survived by son, Kenneth R. Stooksbury (Linda); grandchildren, Jill S. Fairbanks (Todd), Jami S. Aylor (Joe); great grandchildren, Jasmine Fairbanks, Maci Aylor, Riley Aylor, and Jackson Aylor; loving sister-in-law, Sarah Ridenour Mays, several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors Ron and Kelly Helton. Friends and family may call at their convenience from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm Friday February 4, 2022, at ROSE FUNERAL AND CREAMTION BROADWAY. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm Saturday February 5, 2022, at Ft. Sumter Cemetery for a 2:00 pm graveside service with Rev. Ron Mouser officiating and music by Ron Helton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sacred Ground Hospice House (1120 Dry Gap Pike Knoxville, TN 37918). The family would like to thank all nurses, staff, volunteers of Sacred Ground and Caris Hospice Healthcare for the loving care Lucille received during her illness.
