Reverend Nancy Jane Wilhite
October 7, 1944 - April 10, 2022
Nancy Jane Wilhite, age 77 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2022. Nancy had a servant’s heart and a sharp intellect. She was an elementary teacher, worked with the Red Cross during the Vietnam Era, Director of the Girl Scouts of America, and owned her own daycare. Nancy then went on to become an ordained Minister in the United Methodist Church, Holston Conference, beginning in June 1994 and served in Harriman, Greystone, Bell Springs, Honaker First, and Sevierville Circuits. She loved the Lord, her family, and the church with all her heart. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin B. and Laura R. Wilhite, and brother, James Lee Wilhite. She is survived and will be greatly missed by brothers, Melvin B. Wilhite, Jr. and wife Sally, William Bruce Wilhite; nephews, Melvin B. Wilhite, III, Mark Edgar Wilhite and wife Robin, Jeffrey Bruce Wilhite and wife Dawn; great-nieces and nephews, Bay Lee Wilhite, Landon R. Wilhite, Christopher Castillo, Brooke Wilhite Dominguez (Tristan), Avery R. Wilhite; and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends at Rose Funeral and Cremation – Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike on Saturday, April 16th from 1:00-2:00pm. Funeral Service will follow, with Reverends Tim Paul and Austin Byerly officiating. We will reconvene at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 3:00pm Committal.
