March 27, 1964 - February 2, 2022
Peter K. Fodelmesi peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022 after a courageous battle with a rare neuroendocrine cancer. He was born in Tarrytown, NY on March 27, 1964 to parents Imre and Vilma Brambach Fodelmesi. He grew up in in the Lake Peekskill area and graduated from Peekskill High School in 1983. Peter went on to graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1990 with a degree in Aviation Business Administration. Peter’s career path would take him from the west coast to the east coast, from aviation to trucking. While he never left his love for flight behind, his work would move into other industries. Regardless of location, his heart was always with the people with whom he worked. He was successful not only because he understood, but because he truly cared. Along with his passion for air and space, Peter loved the great outdoors. From the magnificent Falls in Oregon to the peace and wildlife of Cade’s Cove in Tennesse, he loved being in nature and God’s splendor. And that’s where he felt closest to God. He enjoyed hiking and walking the trails with friends and family. He loved and held close his friends. He never forgot you. He loved life. He enjoyed hopping in the car and just taking a drive to anywhere and nowhere. Just before he passed, I asked him what he wanted his Legacy to be and he said, simply, “Tell people I was an ordinary man doing the best I could.” But he was so much more. He was an amazing husband who never let a day go by without telling me he loved me. He was a great friend who would do anything for you, spar with you over a game of football, and be a pillar of strength when you needed him most. He made us laugh and he made us think-sometimes with a look, sometimes with a word. We will miss his smile, his laughter, and his generous spirit. He was a loving son and brother. He was a man of character, always full of optimism, and hope. He never let anyone down and always lifted us up. He cared for others with his whole being. You saw Jesus in Him as he was His hands and His feet, giving of himself to help others and never asking for anything in return. He had a way of bringing out the best in people. A smile. A giggle. A sense of knowing you are special. And yet he never knew he was doing it. He was kind, compassionate, and humble. He was smart, funny, and adventurous. Yes, truly an extraordinary man. And while we will feel a black hole (by Peter’s standards) here on earth by his absence, he is in the light, with the Lord, surrounded by Glory with the Heavenly Father. Peter is survived by his wife Sandy Fodelmesi, brother Tibor Fodelmesi, and family Cheryl and Curt Fields, Sister and Brother-In-Law; and Nieces, Hannah Asbury, Sarah Dillman, and Rachael Fields. He has joined parents Imre and Vilma Fodelmesi and brother Gabriel Fodelmesi with the Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022. The Family will receive friends from 10 am-11 am, where masks are requested to be worn. We will begin our Celebration service at 11 am and will stream live from Rose (Mann) Funeral and Cremation located at 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN. The service will be livestreamed on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RoseMannHeritage/ .
