    Ronald (Ron) A. Munier

    December 4, 1933 - February 23, 2022

    Ronald (Ron) A. Munier 88 years old passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2022. Ron was born on November 4, 1933 in St Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Charles Munier, mother, Margaret Germack, son, Jonathan Munier and brother, Gerald Munier. Ron is survived by his life partner, Mary Lou Watson, daughter, Valerie Voines, son Christoper Munier, brother Rich Mangold, two granddaughters; Laura Voines and Melanie Munier; two grandsons; Nathan Munier and Danny Voines and one great grandson. Ron has extended family and love ones in East TN and West TX. Poppy as he’s known, by the children, will be lovingly remembered. In his earlier years, Ron enjoyed hunting,tennis and snow skiing. He also traveled extensively for pleasure. He loved animals, especially the dogs in his life. Most of all, Ron loved family! Ron was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army 1953-1955 in Pusan and Taegu. He attended the University of Miami from 1955-1959, graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He then graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1967, with a MS in Mechanical Engineering and also earning a MS in Management Science (finance major) at Stevens Institute of Technology in 1970. Ron’s long career took him through many titles, responsibilities and travel to numerous countries as he worked for the following companies:Design Engineer for Newport News Shipbuilding Co worked on the design of the world’s first nuclear aircraft carrier USS Enterprise – (top secret clearance). Design Engineer at York Division of Borg-Warner Corp, York, PA. Studebaker-Worthington Corp - starting as a Project Engineer and ending as the President & CEO of their Gamon-Calmet subsidiary. NL Industries, Inc - served as President of the Production Equipment Group and President NL Shaffer Division Houston, TX. Vice President & General Manager at Mission Manufacturing Co, subsidiary of TRW, Inc. Executive Vice President & Oil Field Group President, also, Board of Directors at GEO International Corp. President of White Metal, Inc/JM Industries, Inc. Executive Director of Operations and Senior Career Management Consultant at Right Management Consultants. Thank you to Caris Healthcare in Knoxville for you wonderful, never- ending support and care for Ron during his last days. All the staff were most kind and very much appreciated.
