Ruby A. Haynes

Ruby A. Haynes, age 83 of Knoxville, born July 17, 1938 went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her children. Ruby was a lifelong member of Emory Valley Church, where she once served as a Sunday School Teacher. She retired from the postal service in 2005 after 35 years. She enjoyed playing the piano and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Hubert and Cena Layman; brothers, Clifford, Leo, Leroy and J.L; as well as sisters, Velda, Ina, and Wilma. She was also preceded by her lil man of 61 years, George Haynes whom she married December 19, 1959. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter, Beverly Pardue; son, Edward (Scarlet) Haynes; daughter, Sherri (Darren) Cooke of Florida. Grandchildren, Megan, Kevin (Tori), Sara (Nick), Amanda, Adam (Jessica), Ian, Seth (Blair), Alexandria (Brennon) and Annie; great grandchildren, Ella, Hazel, Nora, and Mabree; sister, Joyce Wilkerson and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-7:00 pm Monday, January 10, 2022 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Richard Nicely officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11:45 am Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Ft. Sumter Cemetery for a 12:00 pm graveside service. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosefuneraltn.com
