William "Bill" McDowell Sanders

July 2, 1929 - February 22, 2022

William “Bill” M. Sanders age 92, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, and a Veteran of The United States Army. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beatrice L. Sanders, son, David L. Sanders, parents, W.O. and Lucy Sanders, brothers: W.O. Sanders, Jr. and James Sanders, and sisters: Helen Moore, Ruth Brooks, and Mary Sanders. He is survived by sons: Lawrence “Larry” Sanders (Karen) and Bill O. Sanders; daughter, Vanda Grigsby (Tim), grandchildren: David Lawton Sanders, Jr. (Tina), Laura Monroe (Greg), Amy Springer (Eddie), Eric Sanders (Angela), Tracie Wilburn (Joey), Andrea Mossman (Jason), Adam Grigsby (Morgan), Payge Berry (Jacob), and Lucas Sanders; thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and sister, Betty Sue McBrayer (Keith). The family will receive friends Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway, immediately followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service. Family and friends will meet Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:45 am at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment service.
